CPVC
Water Pipe Used in Home Fire Sprinkler Systems
|
Alliance Fire Protection has worked on a variety of home fire
sprinkler projects in Chicago and the surrounding areas.
These projects include:
- Custom Built Single Family Homes
- Multi Level Condominiums
- Large Multi Home Communities
- Retrofit Existing Homes With Fire Sprinkler Systems
Some
of the home fire sprinkler systems were fabricated using
copper
materials
while others
use a plastic pipe called CPVC - chlorinated polyvinyl
chloride. CPVC is similar to PVC water pipe but is more
heat
resistant and less
likely to melt. CPVC pipe segments are joined together
using pipe cement.
Since CPVC materials do not support combustion, they cannot
burn without an external fuel source. This makes CPVC
pipe an attractive alternative to steel and copper pipe
for home fire sprinkler applications. CPVC fire sprinkler
piping
systems are approved for light hazard applications and
for use in single
and multifamily dwellings.
Custom Built Single Family Homes
Alliance Fire Protection has worked on custom built single
family homes from a basic
1500
sq.
ft. ranch
house
to luxury homes as big as 15,000 sq. ft. Some of
these homes are in rural areas where there is not a public
water supply. Those homes require stored water in tanks
that are located in the basement and supplied from the homeowners’ well
system.
Multi Level Condominiums
Alliance Fire Protection has also worked on multi level
condominium buildings with parking levels. Projects include:
- Skokie Gardens - Skokie, IL
- Residences
of 8200 - Skokie, IL
- Park Place Condos - Elk Grove, IL
- This project consists of 3 four story buildings.
- Fountain
Square - Lombard, IL
- This project consists
of 2
four story buildings.
Large Multi Home Communities
Alliance Fire Protection has experience working with
developers, installing home fire sprinkler systems in large
multi home communities. Projects include The
Point of Gleneagle with 236 single family homes;
Yorkshire Woods with 43 custom built single family homes;
Brookmere with approximately 700 living units comprised of
mostly single family homes and townhouses; English Rows,
a 48 luxury townhome community; Silver Springs, a 96 town
home
community; and The Townhomes of Gleneagle with 270 townhomes
on two sites.
Retrofit Existing Homes With Fire Sprinkler Systems
Some of Alliance Fire Protection's retro-fit work includes
a four story low-income apartment building converted to
condos,
two
story single
family houses
used as group homes for mentally challenged adults and an
old army barracks building converted to luxury condos. |
